The program allows students to acquire theoretical and practical skills to specialize in one field of Forensic Sciences (Forensic Medicine, Forensic Laboratory Science, or Forensic Psychological Science) and to develop a master's thesis in the field.
During the first year, students will take a core program covering the fundamentals of Legal Science and Criminology, Forensic Laboratory Science, Forensic Clinical Science, and Research Methods.
Involving seven other organic units of the University of Porto, the program targets undergraduates/holders of a master's degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Psychology, Anthropology, Nursing, Social Work, Forensic Laboratory Sciences, Criminal Sciences, and Police Sciences.
