Objectives

1. To emphasize the translator’s role in cultural and tout court exchange.
2. To theoretically reflect on the act of translating.
3. To theorize, based on practice, the dual receptive and productive dimension of translation;
4. To implement several translation skills.

Program

Methodology and resources
Students will practice several types of translation, preparing themselves for professional work routine and quality. To that end, the translation of different text types will be carried out:
- Selected passages from a French press magazine.
- Opinion or essay texts.
- Commercial correspondence.
- Instructions for usage / Technical texts.
- Contemporary narrative fiction.
