Objectives

A philosophical understanding of the history of contemporary philosophy in relation to the universes of classic and modern discourse. "Discriminating" interpretation and identification of specific contemporary aspects.

Program

Part I
1. Delimitation of the thematic domain of the subject. The issues concerning the relationship between Philosophy and History of Philosophy. The impositions of the philosophical programme of the history of philosophy.
2. Methods adopted in lectures and their groundwork. Pursued objectives. Comments on the subject’s bibliography.

Part II
Discriminating interpretation of the universe of contemporary discourse: the need of reference to the previous “major moments” and the main “universes of discourse” that anticipated them.

Part III
1. The Universe of contemporary philosophical discourse: its characterisation and its roots in Kant.
2. Hegel's philosophy as a starting point for hodiernal thought. Identification of the axial nuclei of his philosophy, with a view to acquiring an integrated understanding of contemporary themes.
