Objectives

The main objectives for this semester are:

- Analyse the learning outcomes and contents of some of the Spanish programs of 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education in Portugal.

- Review the morphosyntactic, discursive, lexical, phonetic and orthographic and pragmatic contents in some of the Spanish programs of 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education in Portugal.

- Create proposals for the teaching of some of the contents previously mentioned.

- Review basic differences between Spanish and Portuguese, especially regarding to the Spanish teacher’s speech.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students will develop their communicative competence in Spanish and their critical capacity with regard to the teaching of vocabulary and grammar in Spanish as a foreign language classroom in the 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education in Portugal.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Lesson will be theoretical-practical, with an active participation of students. Students will work in pairs and individually in classroom activities related to the contents of the program.

Eligibility for exams

Calculation formula of final grade

Mandatory oral presentation of an article - 25%
Written Test - 75%
Student must obtain at least 6,75 points (out of 15) in the final written test. The points from the oral presentation of an opinion article will be added to the test grade. The sum of the two grades will be the final grade. Students who do not orally present the opinion article will not be allowed to do the written test.

Examinations or Special Assignments

The aforementioned assessment components.
More information will be available at the beginning of the semester.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Students with special status who do not take the tests during the semester will be assessed by a final exam (written and oral) on all the contents of the course in June or in the Special Period.

Classification improvement

Accordance with Assessment Regulations in force.
Students who do not pass the subject´s written test in the ordinary evaluation call, may take a «recovery written test» but it will not be possible to improve the oral presentation grade.

It is important for the students enrolled in this subject to carefully read the file denominated “Calendario y evaluación Espanhol II” that can be found at the document section, folder “Evaluación de la asignatura” in Moodle. In this file, one can find a detailed description of the tests and essays that have to be done, as well as the punctuation for each component.
