Objectives

- To deepen scientific knowledge that fosters critical reasoning about the phenomena of public space in contemporaneity, such as, for example, the relationships between space, power, politics, and the citizen.
- To develop solid scientific training, enabling students to identify and analyse, in the framework of Social and Political Philosophy, some challenges of the contemporary world.

Learning outcomes and competences


- To master research skills and competences that serve to develop critical papers, contributing to the preparation of PhD dissertations;
- To consolidate theoretical and methodological capabilities that translate into original contributions to the understanding of some of the challenges facing philosophical experience today.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Lectures; debates targeting critical reflection on the topics and authors presented by the lecturer or selected by the lecturer and students, intended to consolidate the subject-matters addressed. The course unit also includes research work to be presented and discussed (essays and/or critical reviews) and the development of a project on which the students’ PhD thesis will be based.
