Objectives

To study the practical, professional and ethical aspects of  online journalism in greater depth, with special emphasis on the specificities of online journalism in Portugal. To identify and understand the latest technologies in their relations with online news media.

Learning outcomes and competences

The aims of the curricular unit will be attained if, at the end of the semester, the students will be able to develop the following competencies:


1) Acknowledge the main theoretical frameworks related to new media and online
journalism.


2) To problematize the practical, professional and ethical issues on online journalism.


3) Be prepared to do research on new media and online journalism.

4) To masteri the construction of online journalistic narratives in different platforms
