Objectives
By the end of the curricular unit, the students should be able to:
1) Recognise the most important theories on globalization;
2) Recognise the impact of globalization in its cultural dimensions;
3) Recognise the most important characteristics of the academic discourse on questions of multi-culturality, diversity and inter-culturality;
4) Critcally analyse different definitions of multi-culturalism in the cultural sector.
Learning outcomes and competences
Critical knowledge by the students of a) the most important theories on globalization, b) the impact of globalization in its cultural dimensions, c) the most important characteristics of the academic discourse on questions of multi-culturality, diversity and inter-culturality, d) different definitions of multi-culturalism in the cultural sector.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The teaching/learning process, which is based on lectures and seminars, is centered on the student, stimulating sensitivity to understanding the problems addressed. An attempt will be made to favour individual research, critical thinking and problem solving. The main attention is given to active participation in classes, through the presentation of small projects. The evaluation model to be used for this CU is based on the weighted average with three distinct components: a) oral presentations (20%); b) exam: 80%
