Objectives

1) Understand isolated sentences and frequently used expressions in relation to immediate priority areas (eg, simple personal and family information, shopping, close environment, work).

2) Communicate in simple and routine tasks that require only simple and direct information exchange on familiar and familiar topics.

3) Description with simple means of his training, his immediate environment and evoke topics that correspond to immediate needs.

Learning outcomes and competences

By the end of the semester students should:

  • have consolidated and reinforced their communicative skills acquired throughout the first semester;
  • be able to communicate in a simple way to exchange ideas and information on familiar topics in predictable everyday situations;
  • have enlarged their lexical knowledge;
  • have deepened their knowledge of the diversity of the French-speaking world;
  • have improved their writing and oral communication skills;
  • understand and write simple descriptive, informative or narrative texts (letters, invitations, etc.)

Enrolment in French A2 presupposes the acquisition of the contents of French A1.

Program

1. Pragmatic skills:


  • Asking/giving something to someone.

  • Following and giving simple instructions, advice,...

  • Welcoming, praising, appreciating, reacting to different events.

  • Describing and comparing places, things and people

  • Telling and describing past activities and personal experiences.

  • Talking about the future: expressing a forecast, explaining plans.

  • Situate oneself in time (express the moment of an action, the frequency).

  • Talk about his/her daily environment (leisure, work,...).


2. Linguistic competences:


  • Comparison (adjective, noun, verb and adverb).

  • Present tense (revision + other verbs of the 3rd group).

  • Personal pronouns

  • Adverbial pronouns en and y

  • Negation (2) (ne... plus, ne... jamais, ne... rien, ne... personne, ne ... ni ... ni...)

  • Indefinite pronouns (quelque chose, quelqu’un,…).

  • Restriction (ne…. que and seulement).

  • Affirmative and negative imperative (with pronouns).

  • Futur simple (+ revision of aller + INF).

Teaching methods and learning activities

Communicative and action-oriented, task-based approach.

The proposed activities aim at developing skills and autonomy through the completion of various tasks, individually or in groups, in order to obtain results to be shared in class.
These tasks include (1) individual research of lexical information to be shared in class; (2) research of various information to be shared in class; (3) preparation and presentation of dialogues; (4) writing of class texts. Finally, an individual or group oral presentation may be required.

Eligibility for exams

Students are required to attend 75% of classes and validation of the continue avaliation. Exceptions according to general and FLUP regulations.

 

 

Calculation formula of final grade

Continuous assessment ("Época Normal"):

  • Attendance, oral and homework: 10% (minimum 75% attendance and completion of 75% of the tasks proposed in class and at home to validate the continuous assessment)
  • Written test: 55% (reading comprehension, language structures, written production - minimum 10/20 to be able to take the oral test)
  • Oral test: 35% (listening comprehension, continuous production and interaction)

A passing mark of 8/20 is required for each component of the assessment plan.

"Época de Recurso", "Época Especial" and Students with special status (TE, DA, etc.):

  • Written exam: 50% (minimum 10/20 to be able to take the oral exam)
  • Oral exam: 50% (comprehension, continuous production and interaction)
 A passing mark of 8/20 is required for each component of the assessment plan.

Classification improvement

Students wishing to improve their final result will have to take the exams in the "Recurso" session. The result of the participation will not be taken into account.
