Teaching methods and learning activities

The main method to be followed will consist of: inferring generalizations from the observation of linguistic data; answering to practical questions and problems. Linguistic data observation aims at leading students to explicitation/generalization procedures on phonological and morphological properties of linguistic data. Assessment consists of written work where students are expected to demonstrate their competences on basic skills of phonetic transcription, phonological analysis and morphological analysis of Portuguese.

Classification improvement

For students who do not get a final classification by the end of the semester: Special Appeal Examination, consisting of a Final Written Exam (20 points, 100% of the students' final mark).

For students approved by the end of the semester and wishing to get a second opportunity exam: Special Appeal Examination also, consisting of a Final Written Exam (20 points, 100% of the students' final mark). In these cases, the final classification, duly registered at the student's individual records, will be the highest.

In both cases, the Appeal Exam fully replaces ALL the assessment pieces delivered during the semester and will evaluate all the contents taught during the entire semester.
