3. distance themselves from the source-text to produce a fluent translation that exactly meets the final user’s needs;

Teaching methods and learning activities

Interactive and task-oriented approach.

General concepts and methodology will be introduced through brainstorming and research on the Internet. Tools and other resources will be discovered, assessed and shared in class and on the Moodle platform.

Classes will be eminently practical, with students working on different translation tasks in groups under the guidance of the class teacher. Feedback will be provided on each task. Some of the translations will have to be revised following the comments and suggestions received from the teacher and peers. All students will take an active part in the joint process of analysis, enquiry, asking and answering questions, giving and taking ideas, opinions, and reasons for translation choices.

Project works will be carried out individually during the whole semester, and feedback will be provided and discussed in a final group session.
