- Relate the representative function of language with its communicative and enunciative function;
- Develop the competence of explicit reflection on the portuguese language
- Acquire techniques for oral and written communication in Portuguese in a wide variety of text types;
- Develop grammatical, discursive, social and cultural competences.

- Multimodality and new media.The teaching / learning process is based on lectures (13h), theoretical/practical classes (286h) and tutorials (13 h). In Lectures and theoretical/practical sessions, the theoretical description of contents is made, followed by the implementation of activities. In the tutorials the development of writing and oral assignments related to the matters under consideration is proposed, with a view to their continued monitoring.
The materials used in class (eg, slides, papers, texts) are available on the Sigarra platform.
The mode of evaluation of the course consists of distributed assessment with final exam. The final exam is only for exceptional situations since the distributed evaluation is recommended. The final grade corresponds to a weighted average of the marks obtained in the components of practical work and test, with weights of 30 and 70%, respectively.
