Objectives

Understand the problem of philosophical research in the political and social fields. Analysis and interpretation of texts by philosophers under study. Recognise the importance and timeliness of the topics considered.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of unit, students should be able :
-- To identify the fundamental concepts of the modern and contemporaneous political thought;
-- To understand different perspectives about the origin and purpose of the state;
-- To recognize the special relationship between politics and economics;
-- To value the role of philosophical thought in the foundation of political theory;
-- To deepen the debated topics;
-- To padronise autonomous skills of research.
