Objectives

In order to work on the cultural mediation issues and people in the 19th and 20th century in Portugal and France, the aim is that students reflect on the cultural relations between the two countries and be motivated to study the diversity of challenges and manifestations that are part of intercultural relations.

Learning outcomes and competences

Historical knowledge about cultural relations between Portugal and France, especially from the nineteenth century.

- Distinction and articulation between different expressions of interculturalism.

- Knowledge of principles and modes of operation of cultural diplomacy.

- Motivation for the planning of Portuguese culture in France and French culture in Portugal.
