1. Philosophy and Ethics
Situation and justification of Philosophy in the contemporary world  Ethics and Philosophy. Meaning and Justification in Ethics. The ethical purpose of Philosophy. Ethical values - nature and meaning for human life.
2. Fundamental Problems of Ethics
2.1 Human behaviour.
2.1.1 Anthropological dimension:- analysis of human existence (purpose, life project and circumstance); - The problem of otherness; - the experience of freedom and the problem of its determinisms.
2.1.2 Ethical dimension - the ethical subject: autonomy of the will and moral conscience (genesis and development); - Moral action: will, values, norms, means and ends; - The experience of moral responsibility:- Fundamental perspectives: - Fundamental conditions for responsible action - Moral sanctions: guilt and remorse.
2.2 The basis for Ethics.
2.2.1 Meaning and importance of the subject.
2.2.2 Fundamental perspective: - Religious; - Sociological; - Rational (Kant) - Axiological (Max Scheler); - Transcendental-Pragmatic( Karl-Otto Apel and Jürgen Habermas);
3. The scope of ethics.
3.1. Ethics and Human Sciencs.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Theory-practical classes - Lectures on the programme themes, encouraging the participation of students. In tutorials: Critical approach and discussion of course unit contents, including the discussion of theoretical issues raised; foster the discussion among students, moderated by the lecturer; oral presentation of reports and of work carried out during the autonomous study periods; discussion of works regarded as essential.
