Objectives

Objectives:

1) Key points of the Spanish Literature in the 20th century.

2) To get know and to analyze the work of renown Spanish authors of this period.

3) To establish relations between literature and other contemporary art forms.

4) To characterize the dependency of today’s literature with the nuances and meanings of ideas and political powers.

5) To get familiar with the interesting and fertile Spanish artistic movement of the pre-civil war period. With all of this, we pretend to help the student to understand and comprehend the social, intellectual and artistic evolutions that conform to the Spain of today.

 

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of the subject, the student should reach  a wide knowledge of the most distinguished Spanish literary and cultural references of the XX century, and should apply this knowledge, as well as his own critical point of view, to the analysis of literary texts studied in class.
