Objectives

a) To identify and to critically explore topics which compose the corpus of Philosophy of Communication and its main links to education and, particularly, to Philosophy of Education;

b) To study in depth the understanding and the discussion of the probable relations between communication, education and philosophy. Convergences, disagreements and ruptures;

c) To acknowledge the educational dimension of the communicative action and to critically measure research possibilities from a communicative perspective in the educational field;

d) To provide a critical reflexion about different theoretical references and conceptual relations in the area of knowledge and in this research field.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of c. u. students should be able to analyze and reassess ideas about communication as a philosophical, anthropological and educational problem, through reflection by differents philosophical perspectives, demonstrating a personal appropriation of concepts  to an fundamental inquiry on this subject. Students must still prove competence for the pursuit of a critical and investigative through a written work and its oral presentation and defense.

Calculation formula of final grade


The final classification results of the weighted average of all elements of evaluation: Participation in the seminar discussions (25%);reommended book review and  critical readings  (25%), final work research and its presentation (50%): 35% written work and 15 % oral presentation and defense.
