Objectives
At the end of the seminar, students should be able to:
- analyse multimedia material, its different semiotic systems and the interaction between different codes;
- correctly use terminology related to subtitling, dubbing, audio-description and to the translation and localization of web pages;
- get familiar with the professional multimedia translation context and with the different phases it includes;
- localize and use the different resources that are available on the Internet for the different types of translation approached during the seminar;
- use the necessary linguistic and technological competences that are necessary for the subtitling, dubbing, audio-description and translation and localization of WebPages;
- identify the needs of the target audience and adapt the translation to those needs, rephrasing, restructuring, rewriting and editing - if necessary – a posteriori, always respecting the clients interests.;
- Identify and solve intercultural;
- evaluate their translations and the translations of other and systematically apply a method that guarantees quality control.

Calculation formula of final grade
Each student must develop a project where he/she will translate a product in any of the referred areas: subtitling, dubbing, translation of interactive resources or localization of WebPages.
