Objectives

To introduce the student to several possibilities of the “other poetry”. To study their evolution and styles throughout times through prescriptive poetry and visual and literary manifestations.

Program

1. What is a literary genius or artifice? Writing, aesthetics, game: literary artifice modalities;
2. The first manifestations: Greece and Rome. Middle Age. Handwriting and calligrams;
3. 15th century: First Spanish preceptists. Forms of artifice in early Renaissance;
4. Renaissance and Baroque: visual and symbolic explosion. Formal mannerisms: theory and practice. Most representative authors. Graphic poetry reception;
5. Vanguard antecedents: precursors from the 18th and 19th centuries;
6. 20th century. Formalism of historical vanguards. Second vanguard: experimental poetry. New trends;
