Objectives
For students of Science of Language:
To train students’ methodology and critical reasoning as required by research in language sciences. To provide students with basic skills in the preparation and execution of research in this scientific domain. To get students familiar with procedures and terminology used in oral and written presentation of linguistic studies, as well as with basic equipment to collect and analyse data and results. To present students a wide array of knowledge about field and experimental work. To give students sufficient knowledge of statistic analysis applied to linguistics. To enhance students’ ability to read scientific papers in the domain of language sciences. All these purposes will be actively worked out during the semester by means of simulating a small research project whose results will be publicly debated in a colloquium organized by the end of the semester.
