Objectives
1. Introduce and identify key moments in French literature in the 20th and 21st centuries
2. Examine and recognise socio-cultural contexts and textual changes in literary discourses and their critical reception.
3. Develop the practice of text analysis, integrating and relating knowledge.

1. The limelights at the beginning of the 20th century and their legacies. (Apollinaire and Surrealism);
2. The tradition of literature of ideas (Camus and Malraux)
3. Literature under study and its textual practices
4. Decentralised imaginaries (Le Clézio, Assia Djebar, Tahar Ben Jelloun)
