Objectives
Through the contrast of the Portuguese and Spanish and the use of texts with different characteristics in the native language, the student should be able to develop his analytical skills to interpret the text role and adequacy to the goal language. It is also wanted the student achieves knowledge of the translation theory to its appliance in dexterity translation practices (translate texts applying the most adequate strategy techniques to each context and to discuss in a critical way the translated texts)
The goal of the subject is the development of the following skills and strategies
I. Acquire adequate translation principles
II. To know how to analyze a text for his translation
III. Know how to adequately apply documentation procedures
IV. Know how to apply the concept of translation equivalence
V. To know some translation processes and methods
VI. Revise and valuate translations
