Objectives

Students are aimed to acquire enough knowledge about Spanish morphology, syntax and pragmatics, so that they can compare them to similar aspect in the Portuguese language. The main aim is that students develop skills that enable them to identify structures that differ between Spanish and Portuguese, so that they can communicate in Spanish reducing as much as possible any linguistic transference.

Program

1. Morphology aspects.
1.1. The name. Number, gender and article morphemes.
1.2. The pronouns. Personal pronouns: substantive and clitics; leism, lais and loism; ways of addressing people.
1.2. The verb. Modes and Tenses; Uses. Systematization of irregularities.
2. Syntax themes.
2.1. The simple sentence. The subject; the direct complement; the prepositional object; the indirect complement; the circumstantial complement; the attribute; the predicative.
2.2. The complex sentence. Hipotaxis: substantive subordinates; finals; conditionals; concessives; temporals.
3. Pragmatics themes.
3.1. Discursive operators.
3.2. Informative functions: theme and rheme; thematization; focalization; topics.
