Objectives
To provide students with a frequent and in-depth contact with some of the most important Galician-Portuguese texts of the Arthurian romance in prose, particularly the Book of Galahad and the Death of Arthur (Quest for the Holy Grail). Draw the aesthetic, cultural and social context in which the said texts were prepared and received, and highlight their role in the dissemination of myths, behaviour models and writing techniques.

II A The Book of Galahad and the Death of Arthur (Quest for the Holy Grail): textual and interpretative perspectives
1. The narrative construction: intertextual echoes, drafting phases, interpolation and redrafting
2. Chivalry and lineage: the construction of heroes chosen at a primitive level of the Book of Galahad.
3. Contradictions and flaws in the Arthurian world
4. The Tristan writer and the obsession with Evil: treason, incest and paganism
5. The preparation of the Arthurian apocalypse: bad adventures, from the Book of Merlin to the “Death of King Arthur", which completes the Book of Galahad
