Objectives

1. Understand the concept of lexicon and types of lexical units. 2. Relate the lexicon with the different grammatical areas and the dictionary. 3. Characterise the main processes of lexicon structure and composition. 4. Understand the different dimensions of the meaning of lexical structures and the mechanisms of their organisation. 5. Determine the main semantic relations of lexical structures. 6. Analyse the argument structure of verb, name and adjective syntactic classes.
