- The functions of communication
- Semiotic material , verbal, nonverbal, paraverbal

Oral Communication:
- Specificity of the oral mode (co-presence of interlocutors, strong contextual dependence; mobilizing different types of semiotic elements)
- From spontaneous speech to prepared speech
- Some communication techniques: the report, the presentation / exhibition; debate ...

Written Communication:
- Steps in drafting process: planning; textualization; review
- Structural principles of the text: coherence and cohesion
- Structure of some academic, journalistic and business writings: the report, the summary, the comment, the press release, the opinion article, the corporate presentation.

Text and discourse:
- The variety and functionality of discursive genres
- The compositional heterogeneity of the texts
- narrative, descriptive, argumentative, explanatory textual sequences

Enunciation:
- Statement vs. Sentence
- Enunciation - direct, delayed, reported (reported speech - direct, free direct, indirect, indirect free, evoked, hybrid narrativised)
