Summary: |
Generation.mobi is a Research & Development project that aims at developing and validating a dynamic mobility management system for new generation services. It is based upon the concept of social network of interactive bikes, which are interoperable with the city ecosystem. This project aims at following five fundamental innovation paths namely: 1) Network communication architectures for bike-to-bike and bike-to-x interaction; 2) Forecasting models and algorithms for demand-supply response both within the operational scope of mobility systems, electrical grid interaction, and any kind of real-time geo-based input; 3) Modularity, flexibility and portability for urban mobility micro-hub; 4) Flexible bike architecture for supporting electric and non-electric solutions both for private and shared components; 5) Identification of heartbeat signal patterns in low signal to noise ratio (SNR) monitoring scenarios, through conventional bikes.
As a result, Generation.mobi will lead to the creation of an integrated mobility management system that will include a network of interconnected devices (eg. Bikes) that will explore a wide range of societal challenges as identified within the scope of the European Horizon 2020 strategy. From a commercial point of view it is expected that disruptive new services will be generated aiming at the international urban mobility markets. By bringing together 3 companies and 2 R&D institutions, this project will greatly benefit at the validation and demonstration level from the formal partnership with the Portuguese RENER Smart Cities Living Lab. |
