Summary: O PRONUTRISENIOR é uma abordagem holística que considera os idosos integrados no seu meio ambiente com o objetivo de melhor capacitar os prof issionais de saúde (e outros a trabalhar na comunidade) para a vigilância do seu estado nutricional e diminuição da desnutrição. Assim a formação e capacitação dos profissionais serão antecedidas de uma avaliação da comunidade com a finalidade de integrar essa informação nos materiais educativos e informativos a desenvolver para apoio aos programas de formação e capacitação.
Identificamos como objetivos centrais para este projeto: a) Capacitar os profissionais de saúde (e outros a trabalhar na comunidade) para a vigilância nutricional dos idosos com diferentes graus de privação; b) desenvolver programas de formação "à medida" para utilização presencial ou à distância e destinados a profissionais de saúde e outros profissionais de geriatria.
Observations: Propomos uma estratégia que reforce a assertividade dos profissionais de saúde (PS) na melhoria do estado nutricional e de saúde dos idosos. Para desenhar as intervenções há que conhecer a especificidade do público-alvo no seu ambiente mas os PS não têm acesso à informação individual e de contexto (ambiental, social, económica, cultural) dos utentes para diagnosticar os problemas e definirem as estratégias de intervenção. Alicerçamos os programas de formação no conhecimento da comunidade em que exercem a sua atividade. Detemos informação que categoriza a população em níveis de privação (calculada com dados sócio-económicos e ambientais) a que associaremos o seu estado nutricional. Obteremos assim o perfil das desigualdades nutricionais dos idosos para desenhar esta "formação à medida". Esta é uma abordagem holística que considera os idosos integrados no seu meio ambiente com o objetivo de melhor capacitar os PS para a vigilância do seu estado nutricional e diminuição da desnutrição.
