Apresentação Pessoal

Fernanda Ribeiro - Since 1989 Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto (Portugal). Graduation in History from the University of Porto in 1980 and post-graduation in Library and Archival Studies from the University of Coimbra in 1982. PhD at the University of Porto (1999) with a dissertation entitled The Access to Information in Archives, under the supervision of Michael Cook. Currently Full Professor of the Department of Communication and Information Sciences, she has been head of the same department between feb. 2010 and sept. 2014. She has been also director of the bachelor in Information Science (2003-2014) and director of the Doctoral Program in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms (2013-2014).
She stil was scientific coordinator of the research centre CETAC.MEDIA (Centre of Studies in Techonologies and Communication Sciences). Since 2019, she is member of the reserach unit CITCEM (Trnasdisciplinary Research Centre "Culture, Space, Memory"). Develops scientific research focused on organization and representation of information, access and retrieval of information mainly in archives, subject indexing, theory and methodology of Information Science.  
She has been Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto and Head of the Scientific Board, since 6th October 2014 to 5th February 2023.
