  • Portuguese students, students from a European Union country or equivalent, and international students;
  • Students with an Undergraduate degree;
  • Students who completed a foreign 1st cycle course of study compliant with the Bologna Process in a participant country;
  • Students with a foreign higher education degree equivalent to an Undergraduate degree, as acknowledged by the higher education institution they are applying to;
  • Students with a worthy academic, scientific or professional curriculum, as acknowledged by the scientific council of the higher education institution they are applying to as capable of successfully completing the intended cycle of studie.

Documentation required for an online application : (1)
  • Identification document. If you have not submitted a copy of the identification document, you must submit to the Academic Services of the Faculty the original document, within the deadline established for the submission of applications, for data verification. The application will be confirmed only after its validation. (Optional);
  • Certificate of completion of bachelor's/master's degree detailing the subjects taken, indicating the system (semester or annual) and number of UC/ECTS credits (Mandatory)
  • Curriculum vitae (Mandatory);
  • Letters of motivation (Optional);
  • Self-Declaration (compulsory in the 3rd application phase, in case the student completes the study cycle of studies in the 2025/26 academic year)
  • Sworn statement to be signed by international students (mandatory for international student).

  • (1) The International Student in the application process with foreign documents or documents issued abroad must submit in the application a copy of the original document duly authenticated by the official education services of the respective country and recognized by Portuguese diplomatic or consular authority, or with The Hague Apostille, for countries that have joined the Hague Convention.

     Please refer to Administrative Decision ('Despacho') No. GR 04/06/2021 (Legalization of foreign documents or documents issued abroad to be presented in the application

  • Requests for recognition of prior learning and experience shall be made upon enrolmen.


National/EU Student:
  • Application fee of ¤55, non-refundable;
  • Payment is due upon enrolment:
    • 2nd Cycle fee - Masters (except Masters in Teaching)
    • 2nd Cycle fee - Masters in Teaching

International Student:
  • Application fee of ¤55, non-refundable;
  • Payment is due upon enrolment:
    • 2nd Cycle fee - Masters (except Masters in Teaching)
    • 2nd Cycle fee - Masters in Teaching


  • Academic curriculum;
  • Scientific curriculum;
  • Professional curriculum;
  • Interview.


In Masters in Teaching, an additional written test is required as proof of dominance in the Portuguese language.
Masters in Translation and Linguistic Services:
This Master’s degree is intended for students who have completed a 1st cycle of study in any area, as long as they prove dominance in the languages included in the study plan. Admission tests are mandatory and consist of written tests in the languages that the candidates intend to study. Interviews in the same languages will also be carried out.

Admission criteria and calculation formula:

  • Weighted average grade - 25%
  • Admission tests in the chosen languages - 25%
  • Scientific curriculum - 10%
  • Professional curriculum - 20%
  • Interview - 20%
