A - Latin prose:
Sallust, De coniuratione Catilinae. Sallust and the theme of decadence in the Roman Republic. The renewal of Latin historiography: a critical concept of history; History and Rhetoric; Sallust’s style.
Cicero, Pro Archia. Cicero and the Hyalinisation of the Roman Culture. Rhetorical treaties and speeches; the perfect orator, the value of letters, the humanitas. Style and oratory rhythm.

Grammar.
Morphology and syntax: revision and further study of grammatical issues learned through text analysis and translation.
Historical phonetics: ablaut and syncope; lengthening of short vowels and shortening of long vowels; rhotacism; assimilation; simplification of geminates.
Historical morphology: constitution of nominal and verbal forms, the adjective degrees.
