Objectives
This unit course aims that student:
- Understand and organizationally frame Project Management and the Management based on Projects.
- Realize what is a project and existing methodological approaches to develop its management, focusing Communication and Information area, its products and services.
- Know how to draw up a Business Plan.
- Acquire basic knowledge and skills to take part in the conception, planning, implementation and control of a project.
- Acquire basic knowledge and skills to apply methodologies, tools and techniques related to Project Management.
- Acquire basic knowledge and skills to apply methodologies, tools and techniques related to the development of a Business Plan.
Learning outcomes and competences
Understand what is a project, its goals and management processes.
Possess the basic knowledge and skills in the field of Project Management:
- In general terms and in diversified organizational contexts (institutional, public or private);
- In organizations that adopted the model of project based management;
- When developed in the specific area of Communication and Information, related products and / or services.
Be able to design a project, particularly in terms of work organization structure, resources allocation and budgeting.
Be able to draft an Executive Summary and understand the main topics of a Business Plan.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical-Practical lectures with discussion and students active participation. Lectures will be supported by audiovisual and multimedia technologies.
Presentation of case studies, projects, relevant activities and participations in external Seminars.
Where appropriate, it will be explored the use and manipulation of resources, tools and applications directed to Project Management (following case studies and project’s presentations).
Distributed assessment with final exam: 1 hour exam without consultation (30%) + Project in a group (70%= written report - Executive Summary/Business Plan 70% + Oral presentation - Pitch session 30%).Software

Entrepreneurship Project (70% written Executive Summary/Business Plan + 30% oral presentation - Pitch).

Observations
The assessment necessarily involves performing all mandatory components (Project - oral presentation + report - and Exam).
The oral presentations and discussion will occur in the classroom, at the end of semester.
