- Concepts in definition: Classic, Classicism, Modern Age, Renaissance, Baroque, French Classicism, Quarrel of the Ancient and Modern, Lights, Illuminism, Pre-Romanticism.
- Basic periodological texts of Du Bellay, Corneille, Racine, Molière, Boileau, Fontenelle, Rivarol, Perrault.
- Pedagogy and utopia in Rabelais
- Essais, Michel de Montaigne (critical reading of selected texts)
- La Princesse de Clèves
- Authorship issues
- Contributions to the formation of the modern novel
- Revisiting a classic: Juan, Molière
- Les aventures de Télémaque(1699), Fénelon: the 'pedagogy' of travel.
