It is supposed that the students may understand the function, in the current social life, of the Archive, Library and Museum services, giving them an adequate adaptation to such contexts, if they are called to work in them
It is supposed, also, to help the students to establish relations between differences and resemblances of these services in what concerns the work cycle that they usually follow and about the way how they interact with the society and the respective “public”
It is still expected that the students easily articulate the theoretical and technical knowledge, acquired in other courses with the normal and practical functions of those cultural spaces
At the end of this curricular unit, the student must be able to:
-know and describe correctly the work cycle in archive, library and museum services
-articulate theory and practice in what concerns the technical operations and the information diffusion procedures, in accordance to the target public of each kind of service.
The classes conciliate theoretical exposition, slides and videos presentation, group discussion and study visits. The assignment produced by the students should be the result of a reflection on the readings proposed by the teachers, and their oral presentation should allow the debate and critical analysis jointly with the working groups.
