Objectives
To understand journalistic production in the context of the recent business, technological and professional transformations through an approach based on recent theoretical production. The subject aims to discuss the main issues of journalism in contemporary societies.
Learning outcomes and competences
The teaching methodologies used in this curricular unit will consist theoretical and practical sessions with the purpose to ensure the students focus on its different components, considering the recent media evolution and the consequences in terms of news production, organizational constrains and professional routines in the current news media system, as well as the impacts of the reconfiguration of the theoretical models taken the existing conceptual values, as well as the role of the sources and reconfigurations of the news agenda-setting. In each addressed point is adopted a teaching model articulated in which the elements are reflected also in exhibition application in practical application.
Carrying out research through case studies and reviews allows deepen the concepts and seized a perspective view of the critical issues and theoretical doctrines addressed.

Thematic explanation and production of work to be presented by the students in class.
In Section 1 is intended that, through the knowledge of the various schools of thought, students should be capable to reflect and build a critical view on the role of media in modern society, considering the importance of mass media, and within these, the particularly field of news media.
Section 2 seeks to give students knowledge about the transformation of organizational dynamics and their impact in the professional field, in terms of routines, the share of common values and sociological concepts.
In section 3 is intended that by knowing the theory of sources students reflect on the role of sources in news production and its actors.
