Objectives

Communicative objectives :

Introduce someone, locate in time and space, Express a feeling, speak about the past and the future, give arguments, express an opinion, report a speech. 

Learning outcomes and competences

By the end of the semester students should be able to: • understand authentic audio and audiovisual documents slowly and clearly spoken; • read and understand descriptive, narrative texts and dialogues; • express themselves orally , with or without preparation, on the themes discussed in class; • write short descriptive and narrative texts and dialogues. Students should also have acquired geographical and cultural information on France and the French speaking countries.

1/ Developpment of oral skills (oral presentations in small groups, spoken interactions)

2/ Oral comprehension : listening to various authentic or semi-authentic audio/adiovisual documents.

3/ Production and comprehension of written documents based upon themes studied in class in order to use vocabulary and grammar learned in class, helping students to understand their mistakes.

4/ Exploring learning strategies : incite students to learn how to learn.
