Objectives
Students should: (i) master the terminology of contemporary epistemology, (ii) discuss concepts of mind and knowledge, (iii) characterize epistemological questions and analyse their relation with metaphysical issues and issues in the theory of mind and language, (iv) discuss theories of epistemic justification, (v) discuss the relations between the theory of knowledge and cognitive science.
Learning outcomes and competences
Students should have acquired a broad view of contemporary epistemology and of the main authors and positions in the history of epistemology.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Lectures; close reading and discussion of texts. A course script exists to support the instruction of the programme. Topics will be further discussed in selected texts, worked on during the tutorials. These texts will be available on the course webpage. Students are required and encouraged to participate in class. Students are required to present a research assignment to be eligible for a final grade.
