1. Acquire the basic notions of the key areas of Phonology, Morphology, Morphosyntax and Syntax;
2. Develop techniques of grammatical description (observation, seeking regularities, generalising from linguistic data) of typologically different languages.

3.2. The structure of syntactic constituents and categories; selection of categories

3.4. Clause, simple sentence and complex sentence
3.5. Coordination and subordination
4. Basic notions of Phonetics and Phonology
4.1. Consonants, vowels and semi-vowels (glides)
4.2. Brief articulatory characterisation of these sounds
4.3. Syllabic structures
