This summer school in membrane biophysics and advanced spectroscopic techniques is designed in an unprecedented and innovative way at the University of Porto. Thus, it is a unique opportunity of excellence training in interesting, current and relevant subjects for graduates, masters and doctoral students.

The summer school is focused on the role of membrane lipids on the biophysical properties of cell membranes, their involvement in various physiological and pathological processes and their contribution to the rational development of new therapeutic strategies in an interdisciplinary environment.

This second edition will bring together the theoretical concepts of membrane biophysics and its application to plan and perform experiments and critically analyze the data obtained with complementary biophysical techniques. The training program will combine theoretical-pratical lectures (Seminars and Case studies) with pratical-laboratorial sessions (Biophysical techniques).
