Objectives

Study aof the air standard cycles of the internal combustion engines. Study of the fuel-air cycles of the internal combustion engines.
Evaluation of the performance of the real internal combustion engines through the use of commercial software.

Capacity to evaluate the thermal and operationnal performance of th internal combustion engine.

Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)

Thermodynamics. Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and Thermal Systems.

Program

- Standard air cycles for internal combustion engines;
- Fuel air cycles for internal combustion engines;
- Use of  unburned and burned mixture charts for the sudy of air fuel cycles;
- Analysis of engines using the Lotus Engine Simulation software.
