Objectives

To understand the dilemma mobility/sustainability, concepts and tools for the planning and the transport policy and understand the relation of transport and land use decisions.

Learning outcomes and competences

To perform transport solutions for the displacement of freight and people and understand the relation to the elements of the territorial system.

Mobility Planning (dilemma mobility/sustainability and territorial dimension of the problem of mobility/administrative organization). Land use and transportation (concept of derived demand). Planning and practice (Strategic-tactical-operacional level). Congestion Problem (equilibrium, externalities). Public Transport. Network design and interfaces. Airports and Airlines, Railways and Maritime Transport.

DEMONSTRATION OF THE SYLLABUS COHERENCE WITH THE CURRICULAR UNIT'S OBJECTIVES:

To understand the different transport modes in terms of Market Organization, Network design and Infrastructures facilitates to find the solutions in terms of transportation and mobility.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The teaching involves sessions with theoretical presentations, discussions and technical trips. The student grading will be based on a report assignment and a written exam if necessary

The report assignment and the discussion of the UC contents allows for an efficient learning experience at this education level
