Objectives

To develop technician-professionals aptitudes placing the pupils before a hypothetical situation of real exercise of the profession of designer in the area of the construction of buildings.

Program

There are 7 distintc proposals of approaching:
1 - PARTIAL DESIGNS Of A RURAL HABITACIONAL SET, IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS :(Resp.: Prof. Ribeiro Dos Santos. Max. Number of pupils: 10)
a) Coverings in wooden structure and roofing tile, with eventual thermal isolation or in hardened with flagstone of mat, isolation and roofing tile;
b) Doors and exterior windows, glassy or not, in wood or aluminum;
c) Interior doors and window shutters and windowed doors, in wood;
d) Water supply;
e) Pluvial sewers and Waters.
Preferential individual work or in groups of 2 pupils.

2 – DESIGN MANAGEMENT (Resp.: Profª. Irene C. Fernandes. Max. Number of pupils: 8)
For a design of great dimension it will be created works (groups) based on the following aspects:
a)Conception;
b)Measurements;
c)Budget estimative;
d)Strategy of the workmanship execution;
e)Work programme ;
f)Organization of the shipyard;
g)Notebook of incubencies.
Work in group of 2 to 3 pupils.

3 - PARTIAL DESIGN OF A BUILDING (Resp.: Prof. João Port. Max. Number of pupils: 16) The subjects are freely chosen by the pupils (with some eventual suggestions of the professor), amongst the parts, specialties or systems of the building (ex.: covering, walls, floors, windows, thermal or acoustic behavior, security against fire, water or sewers nets, etc.).
Individual or group work (up to 4 pupils).
The report will integrate:
a)Descriptive memory and justification;
b)Dawn parts;
c)Map of works and amounts;
d)Budget estimative;
e)Notebook of incubencies.

4 - DESIGN OF A BUILDING STRUCTURES (Resp.: Prof. Jorge C. Fernandes. Max. Number of pupils.: 12)
Relatively to a current building of habitation:
a)Choice of structure type;
b)Pre-sizing of the main structural elements;
c)Modelling of the structure considering the automatic calculation;
d)Characterization and definition of the main shares;
e)Calculation of the structure;
f)Elaboration of the drawn parts of the structural design.
Work in group of 2 pupils.

5 – DESIGN OF A BUILDING REHABILITATION (Resp.: Profª. Helena Corvacho. Max. Number of pupils: 10)
A - Diagnosis report (group work): Brief Characterization of the building in study; Diagnosis of the existing constructive pathologies (observed pathological manifestations; Identification of possible causes); Definition of a strategy and methodology for the rehabilitation works;
B - Rehabilitation design of part of a building (to be presented individually).
Work in group of 2 the 3 pupils.

6 - ACOUSTIC DESIGN OF BUILDINGS (Resp.: Prof. R. Calejo. Max. number. of students: 12) Design of acoustic conditioning of a mixing building of habitation and commerce in phase of municipal licensing. Phases of the program:
a) Concepts on elaboration of design methodology, b) basic concepts of Building Acoustics (in coordination with disciplines of AAE) c) applicable Legislation and other terms of reference. (the same that in b) d) Study of building with identification of zones type of intervention e) Study of field with exterior noisy characterization and identification of sensible occupation in involving f) Development of constructive solutions and integration in the architectural solutions g) Sizing and specification of solutions type h) Technical conditions i) Drawn parts j) Description of the intervention and budgetary Justification k) Estimative l) Revision and elaboration of licensing process.

7 - AGRICULTURAL TOURISM DESIGN. REHABILITATION OF BUILDING OF A XVIII AND XIX CENTURIES BUILDING (Resp.: Prof. V. Freitas, Coordinator. Max. Number of pupils: 4)
Possible subjects:
a)Execution Design of Coverings and Higrothermal Behaviour Design;
b)Execution Design of the Cloudy Façades and Pavimentos and Proj. of Acoustic Behavior;
c) Proj. of Water supply, Draining of Sewers,
