The Constructions and Materials Section is responsible for teaching curricular units in the areas of building physics and technology, construction management and digitalization, and construction materials, providing basic training in Bachelor's degrees and specialized training in Master's degrees, especially in the field of buildings, with particular attention to the following aspects:

– Analysis of the behavior and design of buildings in terms of thermal/energy, hygrothermal, ventilation, acoustics and fire; characterization of materials, components and construction solutions; building technology; diagnosis, pathology and rehabilitation; technical-economic studies, building services.

– Management of the entire life cycle of the construction process, legislative framework, development, coordination, document organization, digitization and project review; construction costs; construction and shipyard management; maintenance management; quality management; digitalization and information systems in construction.

– Study of the chemical, physical and mechanical properties of materials that can be used in civil engineering applications. Special attention is paid to sustainability and, in particular, to aspects associated with circularity in construction.
