Objectives
This course aims at providing students with an introductory contact with the management process, concepts and tools. This course covers the management process, the main management functional areas, and some introductory concepts of strategic management.
The course will join a strong theoretical basis with an applied component, through the use of case studies and group work.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The teaching of this course is supported by the following components of complementary activities:
A1. THEORETICAL CONCEPTS
The theoretical classes will focus on the fundamental management theories and instruments, which provide the basis for the applied work.
A2. PRACTICAL CASES
The pratical classes will focus on case study analysis and dicussion, as well as small team works, with an emphasis on the application of the theoretical concepts and instruments.
A3. Group assignmnet: analysis of a company's use of technology in management. This group project consists in an analysis of the use of technology in a company's functional management areas and strategic management.
