Details
Summary: The PEDDIR system allows for dynamic weighing and detection of irregularities of the wheel sets that circulate in the national rail network, by evaluating the following quantities:
- Speed and acceleration of the train;
- Total number of lines of a composition;
- Static and dynamic wheel cargo;
- Room temperature;
- Exterior noise.
The installation on the railway lines of dynamic weighing systems for the detection of irregularities enables, on the one hand, the assessment of the actual request in the railways and, secondly, to characterize the conditions of the rolling stock. These two objectives will allow the comparison with the services contracted and regulatory limits, as well as pricing, in the future, of rail operators based on the quality of rotated geometric and cargoes. The project to which this submission applies plans to materialize PEDDIR system into a demonstrator in real operating environment, allowing to obtain performance indicators and impact on the end user business activities.
