Her
doctoral thesis received the FEIBIM Tesis Doctoral 2013 award, given by the Federación Iberoamericana de Ingeniería Mecánica to the best doctoral thesis in Mechanical Engineering in the Ibero-American region in the 2011 and 2012 biennium.
The article ‘Free Vibration Analysis of Functionally Graded Shells by a Higher-order Shear Deformation Theory and Radial Basis Functions Collocation, Accounting for Through-the-Thickness Deformations’ by Ana M. A. Neves, et al., was the Highly Cited Research in European Journal of Mechanics –A/Solids 2016.
In 2024, the article ‘Temperature Patterns Obtained in Thermoelastic Stress Test at Different Frequencies, a FEM approach’, by Guilherme Duarte, Ana M. A. Neves, and António Ramos Silva, received the 2024 Literati Award, awarded by Emerald Publishing.
She has been teaching continuously at FEUP since 2008, with a break in the 2013/14 academic year, when she was at Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK, as a Leverhulme Research Fellow.
