Personal Presentation

Current Position: Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Porto University (FEUP); Integrated Member of the R&D Unit CONSTRUCT.

 Academic qualifications: Licentiate Degree in Civil Engineering from FEUP (1999); MSc in Civil Engineering Structures from FEUP (2002); PhD in Civil Engineering, with a European Doctorate Degree, from University of Porto (2009).

 Main research interests/competencies: Development and characterisation of new concrete types (self-compacting concrete, eco-efficient concretes, ultra-high performance cementitious materials reinforced with fibres). Modelling of the material behaviour. Durability. Non-destructive testing. Digital manufacturing with cement-based materials.

 Years of relevant experience: 20

 Main activities: (Co-)Principal researcher of 3 research projects and member of the team of 11 research projects in the area of Structural Concrete. Supervisor of more than 35 scientific research projects (Post-Doc; PhD; MSc). Author/co-author of more than 100 scientific publications. http://orcid.org/0000-0002-4876-2587

 Other relevant information: Between 2011 and 2014, was the Director of the Structural Concrete Laboratory of DEC/FEUP. In 2015 organized at FEUP the 'Ibero-American Congress on Self-compacting Concrete'. Member of the technical committees CT 104- 'Concrete', CT 105- 'Cements' and CT154- 'Aggregates', representing FEUP. Participates in the working groups fib- 4.3- "Structural Design with Flowable Concrete" and RILEM TC DFC- "Digital Fabrication with cement-based materials".
