Personal Presentation

He has a degree in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in electrochemistry. He started teaching at FEUP in 2000, being responsible for the teaching of Curricular Units in the areas of chemistry, electrochemistry, degradation of materials, and polymeric materials.

His research areas include the development of bio-electrodes and gels for monitoring brain activity and coating polymeric materials by electroless plating and PVD techniques. Recently he has dedicated himself to the recycling of polymeric waste materials

The developed work he supervised three doctoral theses and more than 30 master's theses. Furthermore, his work gave rise to three patents and two commercial products.
