He serves as a member of the Executive Board of INEGI, where he oversees innovation and technology transfer, people management, and project management. He also co-leads the promotion of European and strategic projects.

From 2004 to 2009, he was the General Director of INEGI, and between 2010 and 2023, he was member of the Executive Commission of INEGI.

Since 1994, he has been an invited part-time professor at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, teaching courses in Mechanical Design, Product Development, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Computer Numerical Control, and Project Management.

His entire career has focused on research, development, and innovation, with significant contributions to technology-based projects aimed at developing new products and optimizing industrial processes.

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering (FEUP, 1988), a postgraduate degree in Automation and Industrial Process Management (FEUP, 1989/1990), and an MBA (ISEE, now Porto Business School, 1999).

His professional experience includes about fifteen years in Industrial Automation, Mechanical Design, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM).
