José Domingos Santos obtained his PhD in 1993 after starting his PhD studies at the IRC In Biomedical Materials, Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London in the Biomaterials area. He is currently Associate Professor with Habilitation since 2005.
His research interest has been focused mainly on the development of biomaterials for medical applications, which have resulted in several products sold worldwide. He is also founding member of two start-up companies, one in 2001 and another in 2005.
