Current position: Assistant Professor at FEUP (Civil Engineering Department, Construction Materials Division); member of the research unit CONSTRUCT (Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction)

Academic qualifications: Licenciate Degree in Civil Engineering from FEUP (2000); Master Degree in Civil Engineering Structures from FEUP (2005); Doctoral Degree in Civil Engineering from FEUP, with a thesis entitled “Analysis of cyclic and long-term effects in continuous precast railway bridge decks” (2012)

Main research interests: Non-linear and time-dependent FEM analysis to assess the service life of concrete structures; advanced methods for simulation of concrete creep, shrinkage and hydration effects; cyclic loading and fatigue; innovative constructive solutions for precast railway bridge decks; laboratorial testing

Main teaching activities: Strength of Materials; Precast Concrete; Construction Monitoring and Observation; Modelling and Analysis of Concrete Structures
